From starting in a garage to designing florals for HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, Lori’s journey is full of creativity, hustle, and heart.

Studio Roots

Petaloso lives inside a converted theater on James Island, SC. It’s spacious, magical, and yes — it once hosted burlesque performances. That might explain Lori’s pick for the most “burlesque” flower: a red reflexed tulip.

How It Started

Lori’s floral journey began almost two decades ago in her parents’ garage. After years of self-teaching, world-class workshops, and experimentation, Petaloso bloomed into one of Charleston’s most sought-after event florists.

The Studio Pup

No tour is complete without meeting Jazzy — the studio’s official emotional support pup. Equal parts adorable and essential.

What Inspires Her

Inspiration comes from home décor, vintage fabrics, nature, and late-night wine-fueled sketch sessions. (Just don’t ask to see the sketches.)

Music, Mood, and Teamwork

The studio’s playlist? Ranges from 90s R&B to whatever the team DJ decides. Lori leads with humor, respect, and the motto: don’t touch her snips. Ever.

A Typical Weekend

Petaloso typically handles one large event per day. But in the wildest of times? Lori and her team have juggled three weddings, two rehearsal dinners, and multiple auxiliary events — all between Thursday and Sunday.
